Walk around and join the fun in Yoyogi park

Located in the northern part of Shibuya. Next to the Meiji shrine and Harajuku fashion district, the Yoyogi park is one of the largest public parks in Tokyo. During my life in Tokyo I’ve visited many times Yoyogi park. Birthday picnics, music and other events, as for cherry blossom season. A wonderful place to escape without leaving the city with some friends, relax and join the fun in the park.

Easiest way to access Yoyogi park is from JR Harajuku station, only a minute walking to the park.

During high season and weekends, Yoyogi park gets really packed with visitors, families and tourists wandering around. It’s on normal days when visiting the park makes it a peaceful experience. Many times I’ve joined small groups of people playing some games, photo sessions, music bands or just for a good talk and make friends.

An example of the things you can get into by just a smile and being friendly. I joined for a few minutes making soap bubbles and sharing time with the japanese ladies.

Yoyogi park makes a perfect spot for photo sessions as well. You might have the chance to run into many photography groups or individuals around.
