Walking through history in Barcelona’s Gothic quarter

The city of Barcelona grew through centuries to its actual state, but the core of the city remained, and remnants of past times are still open to the eye of every person that steps into the Gothic Quarter. The amount of historical spots and relics is so vast, anyone could spend a whole day visiting all those places and still not uncover everything. I can’t count the times I’ve been in the gothic quarter, I’ve even studied in a school there for some time, and everytime I found a new corner to observe, a new stone to uncover. Last time I visited during the “Festes de Sant Roc” the gothic quarter summer festivities, held every august. Follow me in this walk through history, and let me know in the comments about your impressions or other hidden spots to know in the Gothic Quarter.

Hype in Samurai Armor photo studio

Long gone are the days when samurai defended their lords and fought under the way of the samurai, known as “bushido”. The times of the armored samurai came to an end during the Meiji restoration, when the new government abolished the warrior caste, and forbid the use of katana. We’ve seen their armor and katana in museums. We’ve seen their stories in movies. Now there’s a chance to become a samurai, at least for a day, at the Samurai Armor Photo Studio, in Shibuya. I tried the experience and couldn’t have enough of the photoshooting and learning all my brain could retain about the samurai and the dressing process of the armor.

Kiyomizudera photo session Kyoto’s best temple complex

One of the mainstream tourists spots that you can’t avoid to visit while you’re in Kyoto, is Kiyomizudera temple, in Higashiyama district. Specially for photography addicts. Wander around the streets of Higashiyama towards Kiyomizudera temple, and take your time to delight your senses and camera skills during the visit.
You can also download this article on your iphone or ipad to get direction offline of the places I review here.

Walk around and join the fun in Yoyogi park

Located in the northern part of Shibuya. Next to the Meiji shrine and Harajuku fashion district, the Yoyogi park is one of the largest public parks in Tokyo. During my life in Tokyo I’ve visited many times Yoyogi park. Birthday picnics, music and other events, as for cherry blossom season. A wonderful place to escape without leaving the city with some friends, relax and join the fun in the park.
